Pay Per Click- Learning and development

Getting a Pay Per Click Knowledge is not a difficult task. One can learn the PPC basics from the Google adwords learning centre, yahoo help centre or adcenter help centre. I am sure one can learn the basics of PPC marketing in 2-3 months if he/she is keen interested in learning.
As a starter PPC Executive you have to be:
Good learning and reading skills:- If you have learning and reading skills you can learn lots of thing from the various blog posts, articles, learning centre etc. You can ask questions and answer questions in order to get knowledge.
To see the live account and learn:-when you learn all theory related to PPC campaign, now it’s time to go into the account. When you login in the account and start navigating the various tabs you will learn yourself lots of things from the interface.
Discussion with Team members: - every people in your team have learnt something new. Now it’s time to discuss that. When you discuss your learning on PPC (which is 2 way flow) then new things come and new learning happens.

What next??
After sometime you realize that you have some knowledge of PPC and can handle some accounts, now this is the time where your career actually starts. This period examine you that how professionally you handle your accounts. When you are doing work on various accounts and have some specific targets in terms of CPC, CPA and Conversion etc, then one have to be very jagged and prompt. When there are monthly targets to present client, I recommend one has to put daily targets (internally) in order to achieve monthly targets. Putting daily targets in terms of impression, click, CTR, CPA, CR% and conversions will give an accurate picture of which account is on the track and which is out of track.
For example if your daily average conversion target for XYZ account is 4 and you are getting 4 daily. Suddenly one day your conversion falls down to 1or2. At this situation you have to see what the probable reason for decrease in conversion. There may be decrease in impression, clicks, and average position. By analysing one can quickly take required remedy
One has to be very sharp in analysing the accounts. You have to check for each changes made in the accounts and their consequence on the campaign. Here I want to warn you all that please don’t get into too much analysis, because when you do lots of analysis then you make numerous changes too in accounts which may sometime very dangerous for your campaign.
When you are working on multiple accounts, the thing which is very cumbersome is reporting and action items. If you have some daily or weekly or monthly reporting structure then make a formula based template in excel to get accurate numbers and save time. Also I suggest save templates in Google Adwords report tab so you will use the template again and again by just changing date range.
Making changes might be difficult, time consuming and boring task when the account is big. When you do some change in one campaign then there are chances to make same changes in other campaign as well. For making multiple changes in Google adwords I advise to use adwords editor which is fast. For making changes in yahoo one can use bulk import and export option but this feature is available for advertisers have spend of minimum $500 per month.
Last but not the least thing is scheduling your time for each account. If your time is fixed for each campaign then you will work effectively and calmly.
So one can be expert and successful PPC professional if he/she is very sharp, quick learner, and passionate for work.
