I am glad to share with you that we are expanding. The site, which started as just a host of an SEM Quiz, is now taking the shape of the world’s first Online Marketing Careers community.

Let me share with you our journey to this point so far and our future plans.

I started SEM Times with an idea to create a quiz on Search Engine Marketing. After seeing the interest of the visitors and after talking to many Search Engine Marketing experts, I got present to the opportunity of empowering current and budding Search Engine Marketing professionals. Search Engine Marketing industry has shown incredible growth in the last 2 years and it is expected to grow even faster in the coming years. The rate at which this industry can grow depends on the rate at which we are producing new professionals and training existing professionals.

Being in this industry for more than 8 years, I am present to the kind of career opportunities, which are available to the new entrants into this industry. For a graduate with good communication and analytical skills, SEM industry offers great career opportunities – both in terms of the quality of job and the salary. But very few people are aware of the kind of opportunities waiting for them. Also, there is a need to create avenues for training and development for both the new and the current SEM professionals. If we don’t create the awareness and provide the guidance to these people, the opportunity of a fulfilling career will die. Moreover, businesses that can and want to leverage the power of the Internet to achieve global reach will have to compromise.

Inspired by this opportunity of empowering SEM professionals, I took on creating Search Engine Marketing careers community. However, recently we realized that there is no need to limit this opportunity to just Search Engine Marketing careers. Why not Online Marketing careers community? So, we decided to expand it to Online Marketing and thus “OM Careers”.

I am also pleased to share with you that we now have multiple industry experts associated with this community. We are in the process of formulating the future plan and soon we will be coming up with new features.
