Last week, I had the opportunity to do live blogging for a prestigious event, NASSCOM Product Conclave 2008, which happened in Bangalore. OMLogic Consulting was the blogging partner for this conference and on behalf of OMLogic, I had the opportunity to listen to a great line up of speakers and blog about the unfolding Indian Software Product success story.
I must acknowledge that in the past, I never attended any conference so seriously than this one. That too, when the topics of the presentations were not directly relevant to our business. However, participating in what I called ‘Blog Marathon’ was a great opportunity. Within a span of two days, I added more than 15 posts. I must thank the team at NASSCOM for providing the necessary support in making this initiative a huge success. Although, very common in US and Europe, this was one of the few live conference blogging opportunities in India.
To share my experience: I could only jot down the bullets for the first session. In the next 2-3 sessions, I could partially convert the bullets into well-framed sentences (along with the presentations and in some cases with photos as well) and by end of the first day, we were able to make blog posts live immediately before (while Q & A was going on) or after the session were completed.
Moral of the story is: Practice, Practice and Practice!
Also, I think I am now very close to my first hundredth blog post
